Next the cross bars were added for support and we began laying out and welding in the side two panels bulkhead and roof panels, leaving the rear panel to be added later, so we could access the inside.

When we were approached with this concept, we jumped at the chance to be involved. RC Display Vans Inc has designed, made and outfitted a variety of vehicles over the years. From your standard workman's pickup, to utility trucks. From concession trailers to S.W.A.T. vehicles...but nothing quite as unique as "NIKE'S PRO COMBAT MRAP"

We were presented with two International CXT 7300 pickups, and a picture of a military MaxxPro MRAP. We were given 5 weeks to design, make and launch the vehicle for Nike's next mobile tour to promote their latest line of clothing that kicked off on the campus of Virginia Tech on November 9th 2009

We begun by removing the trucks side fender flares and building a steel frame around the existing truck bed, making sure to get the right angle for the sides and rear end in order to give it the desired shape.
Once all the panels were test fit, and welded, additional side panels were created to give the MRAP its stealthy shape. Side mounted grab bars, window louvers and access doors were then added.
Lastly the rear panel, light boxes, roof mounted hatch and rear door were then fit and welded into place. The body was then removed from the chassis and painted a flat black enamel. The factory tires were removed and Super singles were added to the dually rear end. Mock armored panels, antenna masts and cargo hooks were then added along with a winch, tow hooks and flag poles to the cab itself.

Along with the MRAP we needed a trailer to showcase Nikes new product. The concept was the same, and we stayed with the same over all theme. We went with a 24 ft x 8.6ft Iron Eagle flatbed trailer and added a custom made box with a lift up side. Leaving it plain enough to resemble a military cargo container and adding cargo straps to complete the look. Graphics were then added to both the interior and the exterior as well as a 50" plasma screen TV, lights and slat walls to the interior. Lastly, custom built cargo boxes where designed to resemble large military style foot lockers and placed inside.
